What is Dim Sum?

Dim Sum is the Chinese version of brunch. Around 800 A.D., Dim Sum had already become accepted as meaning "small snack" or "little eats." The direct English translation of Dim Sum is "light the heart" or "touch the heart."

Dim Sum is served all day. We take pride in serving our Dim Sum in the traditional way in which the dishes are wheeled around in small carts. We serve between 80-100 different types of dishes. Yum Cha - anybody?

The Cantonese typically refer having Dim Sum as going to Yum Cha (drink tea).

At Bright Pearl, we offer a variety of Chinese teas. The most popular is Jasmine; however, if you prefer a stronger tea, try Pao Lay or Oolong.

There is certain tea etiquette at the table. When someone fills your cup, you should show your appreciation by gently tapping your index and middle fingers on the table.

When your teapot becomes empty, simply tilt the lid and your teapot will be refilled. If tea is not your thing, you could try our Chinese beer Tsing Tao.
